Birthday dimsum

It was my birthday yesterday. Neil and I visited an amazing Chinese restaurant to celebrate on Friday night. The kind of hot, happening new place where they don't take reservations and you wait for over an hour just to get a seat. Then you sit next to a local TV celebrity, who has also waited for over an hour, that kind of place. You can look at the menu here and muse over how different it is compared to the usual Chinese fare.

So, on Saturday, my actual birthday, I was bitten by the Chinese proverbial bug and like all good MSG laden food, craved some more, or in this case, Dimsum.

We took a trip to our local Chinese supermarket and came back with lots.

BBQ pork buns, prawn dumplings, pork dumplings, sticky rice in lotus leaves, edamame, shrimp beancurd rolls and deep fried prawns. A feast which was good to enjoy in our own home rather than in a crowded, noisy restaurant, (except of course that that is really fun too - when you're in the right mood).
