I have much to do. After 2 weeks at home in the UK, Neil and I have returned back to Vancouver jet lagged, both sad and happy, but extremely well fed. Determined to use this time at home to document the food of the UK, I have many posts and information to share with you over the next week or so. But, to give you a sampler, I've compiled some images from the many meals we consumed and the culinary delights we sampled which I'll post about in more detail later, but for now...... we'll start with the traditional breakfast........
Sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes.
And for lunch, maybe a traditional roast leg of lamb....
Accompanied with some broccoli and cauliflower in a lovely cheesy sauce, or.....
A pub lunch of roast sirloin beef with huge Yorkshire puddings, or maybe .......
Roast pork with crackling, stuffing, gravy and the essential roast potatoes.
And for dinner, maybe a Chinese takeaway with crispy fried noodles, chicken with beansprouts, beef curry, king prawns with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and chips, or.......
An Indian curry from a dodgy restaurant nestled next to the gigantic cooling towers of an energy plant. Rogan josh, vivid red and tangy, special fried rice and keema naan, or maybe if you're feeling a little more extravagant........
Fillets of sea bass with smashed pesto potatoes and pea shoots, or......
3 different bangers and mash with onion gravy.
Dessert, of course, would be trifle. Layers of sponge cake soaked in brandy and raspberry jelly, custard and cream.
And maybe for a snack, a traditional corned beef pasty made by a master baker, or......
A pack of pork scratchings, crispy, salty and soft inside, best to be consumed with a pint.

Wow, I'm excited already, just with the expectation of the blogs to come from your trip!
Where was the blood puddin', love?
Oh my God! The blood puddin', I forgot. Actually I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole myself, but my husband loves it.
